Restricted users installing and running applications.

Hello All,
Q1. We install all apps to c:\program files. Users have no write access to c:\prog files or c:\winnt, so some apps dont work. Any way to elevate user rights when running these apps to give them write access (we dont want to just make the c:\prog files or c:\winnt dir full control to all).
Q2. Have many users based off site. They have various apps installed, for which they will recieve a numebr of updates / patches throughout the year. Current restrictions do not permit them to install these patches. Any way to alloe install of such patches without allowing them to install other "stuff".

Have you tried to add the compatws snap in in MMC.
Start run MMC, add snapin, security and analysis, compatws.
By running this MMC, it will change permissions on program files and winnt dirs therefore it would advisable to try it on a test machine first to see if it meets your requirements.
