The system1.dbf file in my database seems to be currupt. The database open okay but whenever I try to copy the file during backup, I get an error message which states that a part of the file is currupt. The database is in archivelog mode and I have a relatively old backup that is good.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Can you elaborate on the nature of the problem that is being reported during the backup, please? The error text might give some clues. Is there anything in the alert log for the database which indicates a problem with the dbf? Before you restore from your backup and apply archive logs (I assume the latter go back far enough to cover since the backup you have?), let's investigate what's causing the problem.
