Can anyone give me the procedure for restoring a new processor and flash card in a Prologix? All the Avaya site could say was see the manual. Opps no manual... Any assistance will be greatly appreciate it.

Tell me more and I'm your man.

Are you upgrading the system or is it a maintenance issue?

It is a maintenance issue. We are replacing the processor and flash card per Avaya due to a major alarm.

OK,

Make sure you have a backup of the system and the announcements, just to be sure. Beware that TTI must be disabled before you upgrade a system!!

If the processor board is the same type, make sure the softwareload is not lower then the one you have now.

If so, you also need a orange flashcard to re-write the processor to a higher load. Avaya must provide you with this card. If it is higher, you can just replace it and everything will be OK.

We normally make two backups of the system before the upgrade because in case data cooruption appears, we can always go back to the original set. (processor and flashcard)

If you are able to visit the BP website, see if you can find the document "definity made easy". It tells you a lot about upgrade's.

Let me know if you need more info on this and please wait for others to respond because I'm no saint you know!! Plan your work............Work your plan

Thanks... once the new processor is in do I do a restore translation or should it automagically do it?

Once you changed the processor you perhaps need to put TTI back on. Because this is a change of configuration you might wait for the maintenance to back up at mightnight or do it yourself.

There's also a chance you need to call avaya to put the dadmin login in service. (depends on the release)

To provide this you can also add another login with the same permissons you have and that gives you the possebility to login remotely after the upgrade. (save this before you begin!)

Otherwise you can only login locally with craft. But then again, this depends on your release. Plan your work............Work your plan

An Orange Card upgrade will prompt you for the translation card. Make sure you back up translations and announcements before you powerdown for the upgrade. After upgrade is complete, force a save translations.
