Restoring Information Store (AD errors also)

Hi,

i am testing our DR set. I have windows 2000 server and exchange 2000 server. I have restored the C: D: and system state, rebooted and then tried to restore exchange IS. I've noticed the information store service isnt starting and thus unable to restore the stores. Any ideas?

Im getting the following from backup exec 10d 'unable to attach to a resource'.
I also had issues with AD, not being able to copy user accounts with error messages 'windows cannot create the object because the directory service was unable to allocate a relative identifier' - this is now fixed, maybe related though!?

Have you ran eseutil on the exchnage databases? also what are you getting in the event logs?

No i havent ran an eseutil as i cant restore the information store (databases).

Try reinstalling exchange with /disasterrecovery switch this should then allow you to restore the exchange backups

Will this fix the service's starting?

reinstall? use this as last option.
I would test you DR tools 1st
