Please how do I restore files from a Windows Master Server to a UNIX client. The backup was performed from the UNIX client and I want to restore to the same UNIX client through the Master server. I have specifies the source and destination client in Specify NetBackup Machines. But when I try the backup, it restores to the Master Windows client instead of the UNIX client. How do I specify it to restore to the UNIX client

Check the setting for Disallow Server File writes. It can be found under the NetBackup Administration Console\Host Properties\Clients\Client Properties\Universal Settings\.

The Allow files write is activated on all the clients. In unix push restore from the Windows Master server, how do I specify the path? Should I use the front slash or back slash.

For example if I want to restore to the UNIX client uni01 from the windows master server mas01 into a directory /usr/appl/test. In the restore to alternate folder how do I specify the path that it want restore to in the unix client? Do I need to specify the unix client name before the directory like uni01:/usr/appl/test or uni01:\usr\test or just /usr/appl/test. Anyway I have tried all those but it didnt restore to the unix server. Infact when I tried \usr\appl\test, it restored the files into the Master server even when I specifies the source and destination server as the unix client, uni01.

How can I resolve this issue. First how do I specify the path from the windows master server to restore to the unix client

just /usr/appl/test
