Restoring after changing domains!

We have Backup Exec 10d for Windows Server. We're currently migrating to a different domain in another forest, and I was researching on how the Backup Exec will account for the changes.

I found the help article on how to "Update Configuration for New Media Server Name", which allows you to change server name and domain name w/o reinstalling the BackupExec. Are the old media tapes before the name change valid after the migration?? Or does the server name update account for those changes when restoring from media?
