Restoring a deleted mailbox from Exchange server

a customer of mine has deleted a mailbox out of exchange server 5.5 and I really need to get it back for him. Is this possible? and ideas would be brilliant. Is there any undelete process?
I cannot use the back up to recover from due to the previous company not backing up exchange at all.

The only way to restore a mailbox is if you are doing a brick level backup. Failing that you need to restore the whole server.

As you are not doing backups at all, I suggest you are out of luck.
