restoring a database form 6.5 to 7

have been sent a sql 6.5 backup file, and I want to restore it to a sql 7 box. Is this possible as when i try it i get an error saying that it can't open the backup file. Is it possible to do this, if it is how do i go about doing it. i have followed the relevant steps in help and got the error as described above.

any ideas ?

You cannot restore a SQL 6.5 backup to SQL 7. The backups are not compatible.
