Restore using Backup Exec Exchange Agent 1

Hi,

Under Restore Job Properties -> Settings -> Exchange, there are two options, which are "Commit after restore completes" and "Mount database after restore".

I have no idea what these two options are about. I have no idea when to use or not to use such options. Your advice will be much appreciated. Thank you very much. Have a nice day..

Generally speaking, you will need to check the Commit after restore completes - so that Exchange will replay any logs available to it - this will make the db consistent.
If this option is left unchecked, you will need to do a hard recovery of the logs after the restore completes - to do this you need to run eseutil /cc on the store you have restore.
Unless specifically asked to by MS or Veritas this option should always be checked for an Exchange restore.

Mount database after restore is optional - as you can just go into System Manager once the restore is done and mount the stores manually.
It is however sometimes good idea to leave this unchecked - as if the stores fail to mount after a restore the job will complete as failed.
