restore to older version of NB

I was wondering, is it possible to restore backup taken on server running NB3.5 into other server running NB45?

yes. import the 3.5 tape into the 4.5

I thought I read some where it says you couldn't import into latest NB version.

it's the other way around.

You can import a 3.5 data tape into a 4.5 master
You can't import a 4.5 data tape into a 3.5 master

I always import from NB4.5 data tape into NB3.5 master. And not the other way around. Hmm strange if you said that. May be it can be done in both ways, perhaps.

There is absolutely no absolutes.

You say that you import 4.5 data tapes into a 3.5 master server. Who am I to say it cannot be done when obviously you are doing it?

I've been thinking through on your question about 3.5 -> 4.5 and there is this caveat. There are clients that were supported in 3.5 but were dropped from support in 4.5 due to their OS being outdated. That may cause you some difficulties in the restoring of the data but not the importing of the data. make sense?
