does anybody has idea on how to restore specific tables from a dump file? One of the tables on my database was deleted (truncated) and I need to restore it. I have a dump of the entire database but it's going to take a while before I can restore it due to size.

Can I select a specific table to restore from a dump file?

hello,

unfortunately, i do not think you can do that... you can however load from up to a certain point in time... if we are talking about a production server... you can do the following...

if you have a dev, qa or backup server that's not in use... load your dump data there and bcp out the data from the tables you need and bcp in this data to your prod environment...

hope this helps,
q.

thanks qyllr. Eventually, I had to resort to that process. My problem before was that due to the size of the dump file, I was having difficulty in trying to find the necessary disk space.

thanks again.
