Hi,

I used FTP (MD Disk Tool) and copied the REL to PC using a network connection to the NIU (via Telnet). Now I try to restore it. If the MD is allready running it will work very good. But if I try it after a power down with a new HDU, it will not work. It will not be a Problem mit the Username and Password, because I can connect to the HDU. The Problemm will occure in that moment as I try to creat the Filesystem. The message from MD-Disktool is "creation of file-system failed. Error code:5"
what have I´ve been done wrong.

Here is the solution
How to create an INL on an ATA (flash) disk, using NIUX commands and MDDisktool
Case valid for product:
MD110/BC12
Solution

NIUX and MDDisktool

When MDDisktool doesn't let you create file systems, please use the following procedure. (Only valid for ATA):

* When You first put in a flash disk, you need to format it.

atmft 0, for master or atfmt 1 for slave. A flash is always master.

* Then you need to create the file systems ( syssubfs11 & 22 ) from NIUX

* For a 128mb flash with syssubfs11 & syssubfs21 ( 60MB each )

mkfs /DEV/AT01 3c00 3a98 0100 (syssubfs11 = 60MB)

mkfs /DEV/AT02 3c00 3a98 3d00 (syssubfs21 = 60MB)

* For a 256mb flash with syssubfs11 &syssubfs21 ( 122MB each )

mkfs /DEV/AT01 7a00 7724 0100 (syssubfs11 = 122mb)

mkfs /DEV/AT02 7a00 7724 7b00 (syssubfs21 = 122mb)

* Then you need to mount the file systems:

mount /DEV/AT01 /USR1

mount /DEV/AT02 /USR2

Now you can log on from MDDisktool and create the INL
