In Windows XP there is a setting to tell windows to not reopen folder windows (such as control panel, my computer, etc.) at logon.

MyComputer -> Tools -> Options -> View -> Restore previous folder windows at logon

This option isn't available in Win2000. Is there any way in the registry or somewhere to tell it not to restore "folder windows"?

That article is for Windows XP. I'm trying to find a way to turn this off in Windows 2000.

Sorry can't test I'm only running XP and Vista, removed all my 2000 machines
Does the registry key not exist in 2000?

BTW is it explorer opening or a specific folder or random folder.

GrimR/RandyRiegel - that registry setting does work for 2k - ie, set the dword value to 0 to turn it off, 1 to turn it on.

(somebody must have set it as its not present after normal install).
