Restore failure - ArcServ 6.6 for NetWare

Hello: I keep getting the following error messages when trying to restore a file from tape to a Novell Netware 5 server:

E1058 Failed to read from tape, Filemark detected
E1112 Failed to find session 2
E0015 Restore operation failed

The backup logs indicate that all backups of session 2 were successful. I'm able to see the files I want to restore in media view, but the restore always fails.

I took a brand new tape and did a test backup of a few files. The backup worked fine, and I was able to restore these files with no problem. However, I really need some files that are on the backup tapes I've been using. I have 5 tapes in my regular rotation, and restore fails with same errors on all tapes.

Server O/S: NetWare 5.0
ArcServe: 6.6 for NetWare
Tape Drive: HP StorageWorks DAT 72
SCSI controller: Adaptec 29160

DAT72 is not supported with ARCserve 6.61, I think this causes your problem.

Cyklops: Thanks for your response. As I mentioned in my original post, I was able to do a manual backup and then a manual restore on a brand new tape. This would lead me to believe that all the components I'm using work with eachother. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'd still welcome any more thoughts or recommendations.

As Cyklops said this drive is not supported with 6.6.

This drive was released way after the last device update for 6.6 - If you get it to work - good for you, but I personally wouldn't 'chance' the backup of my business on something that has not been tested.
