Is it possible to restore a BrightStor backup with ArcServe 2000?
The tape shows up in ArcServe 2000, but I cannot browse it. It does not prompt me to merge the contents of the tape in the database.

Any tips?
Thanks in advance,
Remco

Stupid questions maybe, but did you actually try to merge the tape manually?

Arcserve will NEVER prompt you to perform a MERGE. When restoring a tape on a system other than the one that created the tape, you essentially have two choices:

1. Restore an entire tape, or a specific session directly from the tape. This is the least usual type of restore as most systems never have enough free space to accomodate it.

2. MERGE the tape, and then perform a directory/file level restore.

Hope that helps.
