Due to a server failure i have had wipe my server and reinstall from scratch.

i then tried to restore my databases from my backup but the new installation of postgresql will not read the restored databases it says they do now exit. i can't use the pd_dumpall utility because the backup server doesn't have postgresql installed. all i have is the databases as they where stored on the server.

how can i get my data back?

thanks

i have now managed to solve the problem. thanks to anyone who was going to help.

For future reference, you might consider posting the solution back to this thread so anyone else who might have the same problem can see how it was fixed.

Glad you worked it out,
MG
