I have a big problem with my windows XP. Each time it gets between the loading screen of windows and the welcome screen, it restarts. So when I start my computer it just keeps restarting and restarting and restarting. Luckily I have on a different partition WinMe installed and this one still works. My problem happened just after I had instaled AviSynth and I was trying to install swiftAVS but the setup.exe didn't load and slowed down my computer. Even after I ended it's process using ctrl+alt+del. So I restarted my comp and then became the "circle of death".
Any ideas?

It sounds like a corrupted registry. The official Microsoft word on this:
Linney has often referred people to a Tutorial on this site:
It was a great find by Linney. You select Tutorials from the left, and look for a Charlie White article "Your XP crashed? Here's help." It makes the process easier to follow than the official word.

Thanks Bcastner, I will give it a try.

Might pay you to try a Safe Mode boot first, just incase you can get in, and if you do select "Last Known Good Configuration" and see if that works.

You might also be able to use Recovery Console from the XP CD and remove any drivers or services loaded by "swiftAVS"
