Usually you would just shutdown and restart the particular interface. However if the router does not even show the interface in show version then reload only way to try to restore interface. If still no go then connect with console cable so you can watch for boot errors.
Thank you for the reply. I can see the card using the show interface command but the card is randomly loosing connection. It will be up for a couple of hours then go down for a while then go back up. when it is down, the show interfaces command says DCD=down DSR=up DTR=up CTS=down. I am not sure what that is telling me.
I think that i am going try reconfiguring the card to see if that will stabalize it. I am running shielded CAT5 from the T1 box to the router. so i am not sure what the deal is.
So the Wic is a Wic-1dsu-t1-v2 card???
Is it connected to a T1 for point to point??
If point to point do you have one side set to:
service-module t1 clock source internal
T1 p2p providers do not clock the lines so you must at one end.
Also do a show interface and check the reliability and also for CRC and Frame errors.
Encapsulation is HDLC. when i use the web interface to test the connection, it tells me that the interface is down because the cable is disconnected or the wrong cable is being used.
I am pretty sure it is the card you said. I am trying to exaust all measures before replacing the card.
Dont remember saying it was the card.....could you post the config. Is this a T1 point to point connection to another cisco router? Should be using encapsulation PPP and not HDLC.
Sorry about the card thing, i did not proof read my message. It is a point to point T1 with another 2811 on the other side. I will try changing the encapsulation to PPP on both routers though.

wich of the two interfaces are you using? Serial 0 or serial 1?, is the T1 connected to a service provider or directly to another router? try using service module t1 timeslots 1-24 speed 64. clock source line.
Sorry, Serial0/0/0 is the problem line. It is a point to point that does not go through an ISP. There is a 2811 router on each end. The on that the problem is occuring on is at our main location. Serial0/1/0 is connected to another point to point T1 that goes to another propertie. there is a Cisco 3620 at the other end of that one and i have zero problems with that line. The encapsulation on that line is HDLC.
