We've been running into open file issues with our OSX 10.3x machines. When a user opens a file on the Windows 2003 server, then closes it, the hidden resourse fork (.filename) remains open. When another user opens that same file, the file disappears off of the server (the viewable file to the user) leaving the hidden file fork behind. This has been causing files to disappear off of the server (only with Macromedia's Freehand MX application).
Does anyone know if there is a setting that can be set on the Mac that will close this resource fork on the server when the file is closed? The only way to close the resource fork files is to shut down the computer (which causes all file forks to close on the server). Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.
