Resolution (DNS) Dilemma

Hi,

I think my server is out to piss me off. When I ping the server name (domain name - same as external) it will report the internal ip of the server (good) - but it will be the ip of the Modem (not good) which is on the same sub-net as my internal network. If I try this again in a few hours, it will report the right ip.

Does anyone know why it varies? I've set in Network Connections for the LAN interface to be the first one queried, but for some bizzare reason it sometimes resolves the ip of my modem, instead of the server.

Help would be MUCH appreciated in solving this.

Thank you.
