Resetting modem on Conversant

This question may be answered better in a UNIX or UNIXWare forum, but there may be a Conversant-specific script that will do what I'm looking for. Our maintenence line is ringing busy, and nobody is connected to it. We were connected to it earlier today, but must not have disconnected properly. Is there a way in Unixware that I can reset the device? I can telnet into the Conversant. Its a Conversant v7 40. Any ideas? I don't want to drive across 2 states tonight to reset the box.

FYI, I played around with the 'cu' command last night and sent an ath0 string to the device. Good idea, but it didn't work. Had to have someone power the box completely off and back on. Needless to say, we will be replacing the modem next week.
