Hi All:

Simple question, but having a hard time... I am trying to reset a voice mail passcode on Meridian Mail. I can get into the system, view/change the extension, but when the extension comes up and I hit the softkey for CHANGE PASSWORD nothing happens. and I can't exit back to the Option switch once I "AX" into the meridian mail.

Help?
Kate

what terminal emulation are you using?
what function key are you pressing to reset pwd?
what are you typing to get back to the sl1 interface?

Using local TTY terminal
F6 to reset PWD
AX to go back to interface

You need to Re-Map your F keys

Here is a list of Softkeys used by Procomm for access in a Meridian Mail System

In case your softkeys are not preprogrammed I used the following configurations under the keyboard editor.

Remember - vt220 configuration -

F1= ^[[17~
F2= ^[[18~
F3= ^[[19~
F4= ^[[20~
F5= ^[[21~

This will enable your softkeys to navigate through various screens.

Or, if you are uncomfortable remapping the keys, and can live with emulating a VT520 (* use keys F6 thru F10 *) try this.

In Options/System Options/System Options/Data/Terminal Options:
Terminal Keyboard File= VT320
Check 'Strip bit 8' box
Then in Advanced Box
only check 'ISO Latin-1' Extended Char set

Save - 'OK'

Keys F1 thru F4 will work, but "F5" is now F10. This works for the Meridian switches thru SEBs as well.

I am not dialing in remotely, although I do at times and this information is GREAT! THANK YOU!!! Currently I am at the switch on the old terminal here that came with the system. I'm assuming the soft keys correspond with F1, F2, etc, and they do until I get to the screen where it says to CHANGE PASSWORD, then the F keys do not work and I get stuck in Mer Mail. Also Do I use "AX" to get back out to the Option 11?

No use a (Control ]), that is Control right bracket

Thank you Rolmen:) WHat about the Softkey for changing the Password. After I enter the ext # and the screen comes up for that extension, how do I reset the password from there?

Thank you for all of your help!
Kate

The F Key can either be F4 or F8, make sure that whichever one you use is Mapped like this ^[OS

I generally find VT-100 to work just fine. Some customers use F1-F5, others use F6-F10 - depends on who set things up beforehand. But yes, check your keyboard mappings.

try wyse 75 emulation if you have procomm

Check the mailbox status as well. If disabled, try to enable it using space bar.
