I've an arcserve 6.0 running on NT4 SP6 SERVEUR (COMPAQ PROLIANT 800 with an SLR Tape drive)
I've got a tape to restore coming from an old crashed server (saved with the same version of arcserve)
I don't know the group name an the name off the tape
How could i do to launch a restore job

Thx for help

Before restoring from an old tape you have to merge the information back into your current database. Utilities-Merge Tape command. It takes long time merging all sessions.

If you want to restore back a whole session then there is a quicker way.

Do a Scan, which will tell you how many sessions there are and the system & volume name of the data in each session. That will be enough to pick the session you need. Then do a restore by backup media. To do that you point it to the tape and then enter the session # to restore.
