Occasionally we get an error on the network server and the thing beeps once every minute. (Of course, it never happens when the sys admin is in the office.)
(Error: (date) (time) IPXRTR-6.70-2 RIP Router Confituration detected Node 000475900498 claims network address 00000006 should be 802A07DB) [pc]

The wonderful people in this forum pointed me to a Novell knowledgebase article that says you can type "reset router" at the system console and it will regenerate the routing table. "...At the server console where the error message was appearing, the command Reset Router was entered. Once the routing table was regenerated, the router configuration errors stopped."

Here's the question: If you type "reset router" from the system console of a Novell server will it kick anyone off of the network or have any adverse affect on people logged into the network?

Obviously I'm not gonna try it w/o prior approval from the sys admin. I want to have all the necessary info available so that when I present it to her, she can make an informed decision about wether or not this "reset router" thing is something I can do - or is something that she will have to do.

[glasses] I feel my research skills sharpening...[pc2]
