Hi all

I installed a free download for changing the appearance of windows including the login/welcome screen on HP home edition. I uninstalled the software and now any time I boot up I don't get the standard welcome screen that displays all the user accounts, I get the logon box that requires both username and password. I have two accounts setup on my pc and no passwords set.

I have tried a number of solutions, tweaking all the user account settings in the control panel - in particular using the "change the way users lon on or off" and although I have both these check boxes checked, I still get the login box.

Can anyone tell me how to reset the welcome screen.

Thanks
Owen

Type Control userpasswords2 in the Start Run box and make sure that in the resulting windows the logon options are correct. Have a look at the option "Users must enter a name and password".

"To turn the Welcome screen on or off" is a Help and Support article.

Excellent - It worked a charm. One click of ""rest to default login" and it's all fixed.

Thanks a million for you help.
