Request Time Out Error

Hello All,

Can some help with this?

I just set up a DNS Server for my network lab, I have created forward and reverse lookup zones restarted the service and ran ipconfig /registerdns. Once I perform an NSLOOKUP (domainname.com.) I receive the successfull server.domainname.com however two seconds later I receive a time out error...??

Can someone please shed some light on this, any help is appreciated.

Do you have a PTR record in your reverse DNS that points to your server?

I created a PTR record and it worked just fine.
