In G Peck's "Crystal Reports 9", he says on p. 193 that there are four objects that can go in the Repository:
- Text objects,
- Bitmaps (pictures),
- Custom functions, and
- Sql commands.

But in my version of Crystal (9.0), there are only three types of components listed in the Repository:
- Text objects,
- (Sql) Commands
- Images.

I have a date-related formula that I want to share since it is re-usable (to re-use, all that would need to be changed is the field on which the logic operates for each report).

Can't this be stored? I couldn't seem to find a way to do this.

Thanks !

Bill

Bill,

Functions are handled slightly differently from other repository objects.

Instead of dragging from the design surface, you add functions from within the Formula Workshop. Basically, you just click on the function in question within the Report Custom Functions tree, then click the Add to Repository button.

You should be able to add them through the formula workshop.

When I'm in the formula workshop, the Repository items are gray'ed out.

If you highlight "Report Custom Functions" can you select "NEW"? You have to add it to the report before you add it to the repository.
