Hi,
We would like to create a report which contains a map and on that map we would like to have a symbol at every location where we have a store. This seems like a fairly straighforward chart to me. My question is does Crystal Reports XI have a chart which includes a map and I assume that the data source must contain a latitude and longitude?

If someone could point me in the right direction. Maybe an add-on product. I'm sure there are others out who have already done this.

Thanks,
Bessebo

Nothing native within CR-XI to support latitude and longitude mapping.

You can purchase an add-in 3rd party tool from MapInfo or ESRI - but they are not cheap.

OK thanks. But explain something to me. They have a map expert but how are we supposed to use these maps if we cannot specify where to put data points, etc. I gues I'm a little confused as to the data behind the maps.

Thanks,
Bessebo

The Map Expert only ties to "general" map features like Country/State - nothing a specific as ZIP or Long/Lat.

Hi,
Do you know if it ties to a city/state combination so that it will put a dot on the map where the city is in the state?

Thanks,
Bessebo

If you look at the sample data in the mapinfo dir you will see that it has lists of cities with lat / long so that it will place them accordingly, it IS dependant upon your data set matching theirs.

I am just keeping my eyes open for an faq on creating your own map sets (I have lists of UK postcodes + relevant long lats etc).

Hi,
When you say "mapinfo dir" is this a subdirectory in the Crystal Reports XI installation?

Thanks,
Bessebo

The dir is located in: ../Program files/Mapinfo MapX/
