Hi,
I am transitioning from a job where I do a lot of Crystal Report development to a job that only uses Microsoft's Reporting Services. I have been looking up courses on Reporting Services and am looking specifically for a course on building reports, rather than on the architecture, etc. It looks like "MS-2793 - Implementing and Maintaining Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services" is what I am looking for but it doesn't look like it goes over charting. There is also the course: "Course 2797 - Designing a Reporting Solution Architecture Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services" which is a 2-day course and appears to be a follow-up to the previous course.
Has anyone out there taken either one of these courses? Are there other courses that I am missing? Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Bessebo

You are better off reading through the Hitchhikers guide to SQL Server Reporting Services

the courses cover some of what the book does but in less detail. the book also has a good chapter on charting...

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.

Hi,
If we are using 2005 I assume that hte book that you mention will also be sufficient?

Thanks,
Bessebo

It is for 2000 but it covers very well the setting up of reports, formatting them and using charts / tables / matrices etc

Very good starters guide but has a lot of in depth info as well

2005 has a set of "extra" features like user defined sorts / multi select parameters etc but the basic way in which you create a report is the same as are all the basic controls and how you use them...
