I try to generate a report and enter the date ranges 01/01/00 to 12/31/00.
It gives me an invalid error and says that the expression typed may be too longer or incorrect. But if i then type in 01/01/00 to 11/30/00 it will run.
what gives here?

Try to pass in the full 4 year digit to eliminate any confusion. I also thought u needed to qualify dates with some string like #date# or {date}. Try to maunually enter the query into the report. Open the report; then try to manually set the filter to insure the syntax is correct with hard-coded date range... htwh. Steve Steve Medvid

Thanks, Steve. I've tried the 4 digit year but to no avail. I will try the rest of your suggestion however....

U should be able to figure out the necessary syntax through the report form itself. That is how I got through some very difficult report filters. Make them work with the report and QA the result set on the report. Then create a report selection filter form that does nothing more than create that filter string that is passed to the report.
