Greetings,

I installed Datalink viewer which is a third-party program that can dynamically read parameter values when you a run a report. From what I understand, the way you set up your report for it to work is you name your parameter "filename.rpt" and the datalink viewer will automatically run "filename.rpt" when you run the master report.

Now, this seems to work BUT datalink viewer just runs the parameter "filename.rpt" and displays it on the screen as a regular report. I guess I need to somehow LINK the reports for the parameter report to work correctly but the instructions do not specify how to setup a LINKED report in crystal

I'm using crystal reports 8.5, does anyone have any how to do this? Thankyou for any help

It is better to use the tech support of the vendor on such questions (or as a measure of last resort, to read the user manual).

The user manual for DLV states that you need to place a properly named formula on the report acting as a dynamic parameter.
