report takes 10 minutes to load

I have a crystal 11 report (11.5.8.826) that takes 10 minutes to open.

report is set to not save data with report and yesterday the report took less than 3 seconds to load.

I've seen this problem with Vista on crystal 11 before the big service pack but I'm at a loss as to why it is happening now and to all machines.

its a simple cross tab report pulling data from a sql view via an odbc connection.

btw... this issue was discussed in thread149-946015 but it was never alluded as to what the cause was.

Simplify the testing.

Move the report locally. Turn on the save data with report and then save it after executing and then close and open.

If reimporting subreport on open, turn it off.

There's also update repository Objects on Open which can slow things.

Could be other things as well...

moved local, moved to another location, even restored from an earlier version of file. No subreports, update repository not active........ turned off on save data.. no difference.

Finally gave up and recreated report from scratch... virtually identical report opens immediately. Old report takes 10 minutes......

Hi,
For each version of that report, export it in 'report definition' format and compare the 2 outputs..You may find a process/variable/something in the first one ( the slow loader ) that is not in your recreated one..

Are there Dynamic Parameters involved?
