I know... odd subject, but it got you to read the message, right?
I am running RS on Win2003 and for many reports it's fine. I have a group of reports going through a couple of datasources that are acting odd, so I have been troubleshooting...
During this troubleshooting, I have found that if I shut down the ReportServer service, I can still access the Report Manager website. I felt that was odd.... so I cycled the IIS service thinking the web site was using Cached information. I can still access the website. So I ran a report, and it generated output!!
I'm confused. To my understanding, reports should not render if the ReportServer service is shutdown. I have checked that the only other machine running RS has the service stopped.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this one? I am confused and lost to how to troubleshoot this one...
Thanks,
Ben
