Another thing that has been killing me is the following problem: I have created reports that use a black box, with white lettering (for ease of identification of some items) on reports. These work fine when they are run as a .APP (or .EXE, actually) when you are in Native Fox Pro. But if you run the .EXE with supporting .ESL files, these boxes when either previewed or printed become solid black boxes. Is there a workaround for this?
(Bit more detail, the boxes themselves are created using the Box tool, with a "Fill Color" of Black. Then, Text, with a "Pen Color" of white is placed over the top of them.) Any help would be great.
Many thanks,
-Scott

You'll need to change the default Object Mode from Opaque to Transparent. Many printer drivers ignore this attribute, but some don't, which gives the "black box" effect.

Long ago I wrote a routine that opened the .FRXs as a table and fixed them wholesale - it beats doing them one field at a time. If you can't figure out how to do this, I'll look in my archives and see if I've still got a copy of this utility.

Rick,
Thanks, I tried this suggestion, but it does not work. However, I have a few more details now...
I checked, and already had the text set to transparent, as well as the box. So, what I did, was to change the background color of the box to grey, instead of black. To my amazment, when I review in .APP, the boxes show grey, with white text. When compiled to a .EXE, the boxes showed Grey with BLACK text! I have set both settings from Opaque to Transparent, and it has had no effect. Does anyone know any other way around this, or is this a Fox bug?

TheManiac,
How about just colouring the actual fields rather than using boxes, and tiling the different coloured fields on each other. You can then use the print when... option to print the different colours when required. Let me know if you want me to explain further.
