Just wondering if anyone has gone through the task of creating a crystal report that will print the payroll data directly on to T4 for taxation purposes. Every year we go through the pain staking process of trying to have this done and always run into problems. If someone has created a crystal report to do this would they be willing to pass it on. Would be willing to pay a fee for this if so desired.

Payroll data...

What is printed would be based on the database, and very few databases are similar, you need to at the very least post the database being used. If it's a canned payroll database, then someone may have done this.

If you have problems each year, consider hiring a competent Crystal consultant with decent database skills.

If you are not allowed to create database objects for whatever reason, then link (not import) the datasource to an Access database and create them there, and report off of the Access database.

The database being used is mssql with ACPAC Advantage Series.

It depends on the printer & drivers because you need a printer that would allow to size the paper other than A4 or letter.

Then I would treat this report as a Label.

All you need is a ruler and lots of patience.

Set your report as a Label Type with One Label per page and make the page size exactly as the Payroll form.

Depending on the size of the payroll form you could even have 2 or 3 per report page

Sounds like it's straightforward enough, and there appear to be companies generating T4's using Crystal (I saw something called Paymate that seemed to be doing this), perhaps you can buy one and cannibalize it for use with ACPAC.
