Hello all -
I have a report that will print on a form of 3 1/2 inch in height on an Okidata. VFP is ejecting a whole 8 1/2 X 11 each time I print.

Is there someway to 'tell' the report that the report is to print on 3 1/2 inches, and to not eject every time it prints?

It works in 2.6 - where you can choose page layout and whether you want to eject or not under the Report Options.
Is there someway to do this in VFP 7?

Any suggestions would be helpful
Thanks
Angie

Do you have that custom size added to the printer driver? If so set that size as default, modify your report and resave it. The information will save itself in the report.

Hi Mike -
Where can I find this printer driver?
Thanks

I was refering to the printer driver for your Okidata, that may permit you creating a custom paper size (Some printer drivers allow custom sizes, some don't).

Mike -
I have 70 workstations that will be using this report. Would I have to add the printer driver to all 70 workstations, or will it be saved in the report to allow for custom size on all 70?
Let me know and Thanks so much!

It will if all of them are using the same type of printer. You are trying to do something that the default report is not set to do. If you create a custom size in one printer driver, all of them should have that custom size in the driver, otherwise VFP report will just default to 11".

This is just great.
Why did VFP do away with specifying what size to print in the report designer?

I cannot find a driver with custom, nor can I put that driver on all 70 machine- because they do not all use the same type of printer.

It ejects even when I say "NOEJECT" and I do not know where else to look for help on this.

What the heck is A4 and A3 sizes? ARe they 3 1/2 inch? Where do I look for this information?

I believe this is addressed in VFP8.0.

In Windows 2000 and XP, you can add a custom size to any printer drivers, by going to the printer folder and select file->Server properties and add you custom sizes there.

What the heck is A4 and A3 sizes?
A4 = 210 x 297 mm
A3 = 297 x 420 mm

Thanks for your help Mike.
We've been considering purchasing VFP 8 for a while. I guess it's time to jump.

Have a great afternoon-
