Hi,
Realising this might be an ambiguous question here goes anyway:
My employer have recently decided on using MS BI tool suite as opposed to it's competitors, most notably Business Objects. I have my reservations, but as some parts of our BI delivery (SSRS and SSAS) are now embedded here, iy probably makes sense. There is however some concern with Report Builder as an ad hoc reporting tool, and unfortunately I do not have much experience of report builder, so I am relying on experts to advise.
It seems as if Microsoft did not spend TOO much time and money on the SQL Server 2005 version of Report Builder. Are they waiting to buy another more mature tool (they have been known to do this)?
Someone also said there is much more BI capabilities in Office 2007 - would this come to play here?
Any help and advise would greatly be appreciated.
