Hello All ...

I'm curently in the process of setting up a shared mailbox to be used by 4 customer service reps. Setting them up with the mailbox is not a problem and having them access the e-mails is not a problem. The problem lies in the reply address.
When a customer service rep relies to the e-mail the reply address is the reps address, not the shared mailbox address.
(ie joesmith@place.com not customerservice@place.com)

Any ideas?

If the user is using outlook

goto Tools > options > mail setup > View or change exisiting > highlight account > Change > more settings > reply email address.

That should fix you up.

Which version of Outlook are you refering to? Also .. does it make a differnce if they have their own account open as well as the shared mailbox open at the same time?

I was talking about Outlook 2002 (ships with Office XP) If you're not using outlook 2002, the steps should be very similar. just in another location.

I can't answer that with experience in the issue, but I can't imagine it would. Anyone else feel free to field that one ;)


 
I tried Oulook 2002 and could not find the option you are refering to ...

you clicked on the "mail setup tab" and not the email options button right?

*insert* Tools > options > mail setup > email accounts (missed this one) View or change exisiting email account > highlight account > Change > more settings > reply email address


if that didn't work for ya, let me know.
