Replication of user permissions and files possible?

I have a Win2K Server OS as my primary server. I do not have a second server yet. What I want to achieve is that when my primary server goes down, All the users would automatically be redirected to the second server which will have SAME permissions and files as the Primary Server.

Is this possible? How do I do this if ever. Where do I start looking?

Not sure how you would achive what you are after without a 2nd server or restoring a backup. Users still require a DC to lo into the domain.

For my 2nd DC's i have purchased pc's with no tape drive just a lot of memory same 512mb and a nic. They sit in network cabs and work happily. You can get pc's like this for £500 or less if you buy without monitor, keyboard, etc.

Well worth doing and may save you a lot of headache in the future.
