Hello All,

I was informed that we are going to start replication between the office that I work in and an offsite location. I was asked to research if there are any bandwidth issues in doing this and/or to get recommendations on what kind of bandwidth we need to have. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

We have pull merge subscriptions with scheduled synchronization. We are publishing approximately 100 tables, 350 objects total. We are exchanging data over an (encrypted) vpn.

With no data changes, the bandwidth hit is about 250 kB per synchronization (!!!). This really surprised us, and someone recommended we move to continuous synchronization to lower this cost, but that comes with its own set of problems.

Hope these empirical numbers are helpful to you,

Cheyney

I have replication set up as transactional and continuous to run whenever the CPU is idle. What sort of problems has anyone encountered with this?
