I am confused. I have two exchange servers in the same AD domain each at a different physical site. In my Exchange System Manager there are:

1) Exch1, public folders and public folder instances
2) Exch2, public folders and public folder instances
3) Folders

By selecting a folder instance #1 or #2 I can add Server2 to the list in the replication tab. This is true for the Folders container on the root of the system manger.

My goal: Replicate all or select folders (i.e. Contacts) between Exch1 and Exch2. Exch2 is the new and 2nd Exchange server.

My Question: I am confused as to which replication tab to configure this scenario? On each storage group or at the root Folder container? I did a test on one storage group but didn't see it show up on the folder root. Is this by design ?Which is right? Wrong?

Thanks for your help in advance :)

you'll need to set this on a per-folder basis, not at the root or the storage group...

Ok.. so on EXCH1 only? What is the purpose of the FOLDERS at the root of the organization then ?

If you're referring to the "Folders" under Administrative Groups, it's there because you have the ability to create other Public Folder Trees to which you can assign explicit access....
