Good afternoon:

I am interested in finding out how I may replace values in a table using an external text file (.csv). Currently, one of our tables stores hyperlinks to documents located on one of our servers. Our office is moving locations and therefore, the server storing our docs is going to change making the hyperlinks invalid. Rather than manually changing approximately 27 000 records, I was going to export the table data to a .csv file, use Find & Replace method to edit the hyperlink so that it will reference the new server and then import this data back into the table. My question then, is what is the best recommended way of doing this process? Do the table contents need to be deleted before importing the edited text file? Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Scott.

Why don't you run an update query to change the data in place?
