I have a Packard Bell laptop computer, which I bought in 2001. I am trying to replace the hard disk, but don't know where to start. Any ideas?

You could start by telling us which model and what the specification is. I hope your original drive still works as you will need to get the 'tattoo' transferred to the new one.

Do you mean you already have a Hard Drive, but don't know how to install it, or do you not know what Hard Drive to buy etc.?

Since it's a Laptop, I would strongly recommend asking a qualified staff member at your local PC Shop to install it - it's a lot safer if you haven't got a clue (especailly with a Laptop - they're a bugger to upgrade!).

Thanks you guys. I've asked my IT man at work to give me a hand, so fingers crossed, I might get it fixed.

It is't a straightforward job; get your IT man to check with the guys on the Packard Bell Forum about the drive tattoo issue!

Andy.
