Replacing IMS Server

Our IMS server can no longer handle the volume of internet traffic, thanks to spam. We purchased a new server to replace it. There is an extensive amount of setup data entered for the existing IMS server, is there a way to transfer that to the new server? How do we tell exchange to use the replacement system after IMS is loaded and setup on it?
