replacing dlls

i have an nt server and i am trying to update a dll. i have the new dll version. just how do i replace it if windows is using it. how do install programs do this? is there a registry entry? please help me. Karl Pietri

I think that this has to be done after booting your computer to DOS - and I think that is why some install programs require reboot after installation. I may, however, be wrong on this and am interested to see if anyone knows more.
