OK, major shake up internally. People going/sent left & right. It's been a while on these.

I have been asked to remove several hunt groups & trunk groups that I didn't setup. If I had to guess removing the hunt groups would involve removing all of the members, via "cha hu X", and remove all stations. Then "rem hu X" to remove it. Can someone verify?

The trunk group removal downright scares me. In looking at "disp tru Y" there are references to port numbers. Again, I am guessing, if I remove the ports then "rem tru Y" will that remove the trunk group successfully? What is the impact?

Your process for the Hunt groups is right on. Don't know on the trunk groups, but it sounds right.

You may want to check your routing....there could be issues of certain types of calls running over that trunk group.

Do a 'list route' command and the system will display the route patterns, 'cha route x' to remove the trunks you wish to delete from your ars set up. From there you are right on, 'cha tru x' and remove the members. It's also a good idea to look at incoming destination and night service (1st page of trunk form) and make sure you're not leaving anything hanging there. Once you're satisfied everything is groovy 'rem tru x' to blow it up. On the physical side of things, if you're keeping the dial tone on those lines you might want to keep track of port numbers and move them into trunk groups you're keeping.

You can also do a "li usage trunkgroup" or a "list perf trun " to see if it's used. If you do a "sta trun xx" you can see if it's in service.

These and the above commands will give you an idea if you should remove it or not. Plan your work............Work your plan
