I was wondering if I can remove startup programs from running in the background and showing in the bottom right of the taskbar?

I used to be able to do this with Win98 but in 2000 it seems that they have changed the way in which you can do this.

Any ideas??

There 3 possible locations of the pointers - what to run each time during startup:
1. start/programs/startup
2. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
3. win.ini

that's all! ;)

Cheers lads, I downloaded the program from the link above (I'm lazy) and it worked perfectly.

I'll be keeping a copy of this link for the next time I encounter this problem though!

Thanks again.
