Hi.

We have an exchange server in NY with multiple sites. The problem is that our Sydney office shutdown their exchange server a few months back and our NY exchange org still lists the sydney site. This causes some problems with email addresses that are being held by the sydney site and cannot be recreated in the NY site.

Since the sydney exchange is down, is there a way to remove that site from our org? Our only directory replication connector points to our london server and it gives us the other Amsterdam, tokyo, and san fran sites.

Thanks...Any help would be appreciated.

you could load up the admin program in in raw mode - admin.exe /r - this will add another option to I think the edit menu - Delete Raw object.
This will allow you to delete the object/s from the directory without it actually needing the other server up.

I would suggest you do this after hours though - take an offline backup of the DSADATA directory and it's log directory if it is different - and then try it - it should work though, I have had to use Delete Raw Object a number of times and haven't seen any consequences from using it.

I will give you a try and let you know.
Thanks!
