I want to be able to delete messages in my Inbox before they are read, but when I move my mouse over messages, they seem to open. I know this because I am getting numerous messages with the w32.swen.a@mm virus and my anti virus program catches it as soon as the mouse moves over the message. Can I configure Outlook XP to not open messages unless I click (or double click) on them? Thanks.

Howdy:

Start Outlook.. Now, go to View and click on "Preview Pane" to disable it..

Hi bwarner

If you invoke outlook with the command line option '/nopreview' (without quotes) then the preview pane is disabled in all folders and the option is greyed out in view menu.

JockMullin,
How would I configure that command for use with ms outlook? I would like to make this a standard in our W2K image. We use Office 2000 with a few pcs running Office 2002 on an Enterprise network; my plan is to eliminate the preview pane option alltogether.
