Hi,

Everytime I boot my PC I get this OEM advertising logo from the PC supplier that build it. How can I remove it safely?

Thanks

LW

You're talking about right at boot up? This logo is usually the motherboard manufacturer and most won't give you the utilities to change it. Usually, you can display the normal boot sreens by pressing tab, esc or some other key.

Look in the BIOS Setup for a setting, can't give specifics because the 'brands' do it a bit differently from others. It's probably something about Diagnostics.

Actually, someone told me once and showed me how to disable the Compaq or Dell, logos for instance. I think they were .jpg files on the PC, and you could select blank. The reason I didn't bother was that the bootup time was the same with or without. Sorry I can't remember how, but it is possible to substitute other graphics, or have none. Newposter

Hi leftywedge:
There's sometimes a setting in the BIOS to deflate it...and on the off-chance it's in the OS somewhere, search for OEM'SNAME.bmp and SAMETHING.jpg just to see if you can find it. If you can, rename it to something else and then rename something you wanta' see to that file name.

Oeminfo.sys and Oeminfo.bmp are usually the ones that show in System Properties, General. If it is an OEM splash screen
it may be the Logow.sys or Oemlogo.sys. If it is during post
then it is probably part of the rom.
